Social Emotional Learning Video Series

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

In this video series, I’ll show you exactly how I approach Social Emotional Learning in my homeschool. This series is free and designed to give you a sense of how you can incorporate these types of skills into your homeschool as well.
You’ll add creativity, connection, and confidence — for you AND the kids — into your homeschool, all while strengthening emotional intelligence and executive function skills.
Let’s get started!

Video One

How Incorporating Creative Thinking and Executive Function Skills Fuels Social-Emotional Learning

Using Dream Ladders to Teach Creativity and Executive Function Skills

This lesson was presented live via Zoom originally, so there is some conversation with live participant families.

Welcome to our Creative Thinking Lab Lesson all about dreaming and following our passions!

Today we’ll talk about following passions, dreaming big dreams, and making plans to reach our goals.

You’ll need:

  • Drawing or construction paper
  • Pencils
  • Art supplies — markers, colored pencils, watercolors, etc. (I’ll be using markers and cardstock!)
  • A CREATIVE Mind — and a DASH of IMAGINATION!

How Building Emotional Intelligence in Your Kids (and Yourself!) Improves Your Family Life

Strengthen Emotional Intelligence

With Monthly Activities and Challenges for the Whole Family

Confidence

The resilience to handle anything

Connection

Your family is in this together

Community

You are not alone on your journey

Optimism Family Challenge

This is a walk-through of one of our monthly family challenges — focusing on the topic of optimism — and includes lots of fun activities for your family!

Why does this even matter?

There are so many things to do in a busy homeschool, it’s easy to put all the focus on academics and forget about the most important thing that differentiates home from school — the heart. Putting your family’s social-emotional well-being on the top of the priority list means that everything gets better in the long run, and you all enjoy the adventures along the way.

Connection: The Best Gift Your Can Give Yourself and Your Family

I can’t recommend this resource enough!

My favorite part of the Learner’s Lab is connecting with other parents who share this unique path. It’s important to have a community that understands the challenges and joys of raising an unconventional learner. Through sharing with other parents in the lab, I’ve gained a lot of insight into my own learning journey!

Casey

Today I was overwhelmed by how much you’ve helped our family. Even when meltdowns happen, I don’t feel shame and embarrassment like I did even a year ago. I’m not on edge wondering if something will go wrong.  We’ve worked through so many social skills. I’ve learned to accept them for who they are and where they are. Thank you for the support and education you provide to make our life and many others more joyful and less stressful. I don’t feel alone on this journey anymore.
